The Marmot Avant Featherless Jacket features innovative Thinsulate Featherless insulation, a synthetic material which is scientifically designed to act much like natural down. Strong baffling keeps this lightweight, compressible insulation right where you want it. Featherless synthetic insulation was designed to better mimic the structure of natural down feathers than other synthetics. This gives is a superior compressibility and loft, putting it closer in performance to natural down than other synthetics. This gives you great packability and lightweight warmth. The external fabric is lightweight 20D woven nylon and it uses baffled construction to keep insulation from migrating and creating cold spots. Two zippered pockets provide a warm place for your hands and safe storage for your valuables. A zippered chest pocket provides additional storage. Elastic-bound cuffs and drawcord-adjustable hem seal out cold drafts and moisture.
